Event

This event is the 14th annual Point Richmond to Stockton Race, also known as the Delta Ditch Run.Ý This event will start at approximately 11 a.m. on June 5, 2004.Ý The course is from an area approximately ‡ mile NW of the Richmond Breakwater (Ferry Pt.) to the finish at the Stockton Sailing Club.

 

Waivers

Prior to the start, the skipper of each entrant shall sign and file with the Organizing Authority, the Richmond Yacht Club / Stockton Sailing Club Joint Liability Release Form which is found on the application form for this event.

 

Rules

This event will be governed by 2001-2004 Racing Rules of Sailing, Preamble to Part 2 of RRS, the minimum equipment standardsÝ set by YRA of San Francisco, Sailing Instructions for this event, and any applicable Federal and State laws. Operating VHF radios are required. They must be used to check in, monitor during the race for safety, and check out.

 

Qualified Entrants

This event is open to all boats with valid San Francisco Bay or Stockton Sailing Club PHRF certificates.Ý In the event that identical boats rate differently under the two systems, the race committee shall assign a common number.Ý Due to the typical all downwind nature of this event, the 6 second allowance for carrying headsails of 125% or less will be disallowed.Ý All yachts shall carry the full race PHRF number.Ý If classes of boats have both one-design and full race PHRF numbers, they shall race with the full race number. Final handicap decisions rests with the race committee.

 

A cruise division will be available to monohulled boats wishing to have a motoring time allowance. Cruising Division boats shall not use spinnakers.

 

A separate division is open to sailing multihulls that have a valid Bay Area Multihull Association (BAMA) rating.

 

Boats without certificates may race in the unlimited division or have a rating assigned by the Race Committee, provided that their entry is accepted by the Race Committee.

 

Entry Fees

The entry fee is $55. United States Sailing Association members may deduct $5.Ý A late fee of $10 will be charged for all entries received after May 29, 2004. Final entries close at 1000 hrs on June 4th, 2004.

 

Sailing Instructions

The Sailing Instructions will be available at the Stockton Sailing Club and the Richmond Yacht Club from May 29th through June 5, 2004.ÝÝ Information will also be available on web at http://stocktonsc.org or http://richmondyc.org

 

Prizes

Prizes will be distributed at Sunday morning breakfast at SSC.Ý All sailing boats are eligible for the first to finish and their division trophies.Ý The first three places in each division and overall will be awarded prizes. Overall trophy will be based on corrected fleet time. Only monohulled boats which do not have an engine allowance are eligible for the overall trophy.

 

Assignment to Division

Division formation will be based upon the number and types of entrants. All divisions will be scored on basis of Time-on-Time. One-Design divisions will be allowed upon request by at least eight (8) boats provided entries are received prior to the deadline date of May 29th, 2004. Final division assignments will be made on June 3, 2004. Final Cutoff date is June 4th, 2004 at 1000 hrs.

 

Docking, Facilities, and Transportation

Bus Schedule:Ý Three busses leave Stockton (SSC) for Richmond(RYC), one at 2100 on Friday ,one at 0700 on Saturday and one at 2200 Saturday night.ÝÝ Reservations by check to Stockton Sailing Club at PO.Box 7955Ý Stockton, CA 95267

Richmond: Entrants are welcome at RYC from 3 days prior to the race.Ý The Harbormaster (510) 234-6959 can arrange hoist and dock space.Ý Friday evening dinner is available at RYC, also a continental breakfast on Saturday.Ý For additional information, call (510) 237-2821.

Stockton: Only those boats entered in the South Tower Race may remain at the Stockton Sailing Club after 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 6th unless prior arrangements with the SSC harbormaster are made.Ý Boats entered in the South Tower Race will have free berthing through July 4th weekend.Ý There will be dinner & entertainment on Saturday evening.Ý Breakfast will be available on Sunday morning.Ý Camping will be available in designated areas.Ý Check the Stockton Sailing Club web site for BUS information (www.stocktonsc.org).Ý Phone the Stockton Sailing Club Harbormaster at (209) 951-5600 for details.
