Oakland Yacht Club hosted the InterClub Race & Committee. Ted Keech was the Primary Race Officer (PRO) with the following report:
"Our race committee is dependent on help from people who are not regular members of the committee. If it had not been for last minute volunteers
Mike Jackson,
Gary Campbell and
Aeolian’s Les Clark, and
our committee boat owner and shotgunner extraordinaire Sandy Jacobsen,
there wouldn’t have been a race today. And if Charles Pfaff hadn’t corralled the starting line mark and repositioned it, the last three classes would have had an unsatisfactory race, for once you do get Sandy’s boat anchored, you don’t move it just to retrieve some stinking starting line mark.
Thanks to them all, as well as to Liston and Robin Bevard who put out the finish line mark for us. (Once you get Sandy’s boat back into the berth, having forgotten to set the finish line, you don’t take it out again just to set some stinking finish line mark.) Thanks also to race committee regular Dick Johnson and his geriatric crew for brining in the finish mark.
