Race Committee Notes
Mike Hershey, Oakland Yacht Club, hosted the race committee for Race #3. Skipper Hershey located the “official” position for the start mark using the GPS on the bridge, a big help. Buoy set in the bay went without incident. Buoy pick-up in the was too simple, first try, although Mr. Gurrola was almost pulled off the boat at speed.
Wind speed maybe 10 knots at the start. Wind direction was way south, 170-180 for a while. Starting line was set at a bias away from the committee boat. Wind clocked more towards the west as the start sequence went on.
Oakland Yacht Club hosted a party on the docks starting at 1700 hr.
