Claudette asked me to respond to your BAMA email. I will send it to your email and the
BAMA list.
Currently three boats (below) are sailing up Friday and going to the
Riverboat Friday night, anchoring out around there and then moving to
Mandeville Tip Saturday AM and find a July 4th spot close to where
we have been for the last two years.
Below is a map that hopefully will be preserved in the email. The yellow star at the end of the arrow
below is where we have rafted before.
If you want to join us at the Riverboat Friday night it is just above “Mokelumne”. You could meet up with us there when we
arrive.
If you are going to be there on Thursday and want to be our advance (save
a raft up spot) boat you could anchor out around the star and use your runabout
to join us at the Riverboat. In
the past, Jeff Eastman on Bebe L’Amour has staked out a raft up location early
but cannot this year since they are in Greece. The fireworks are at the green cloud below the star. The area usually fills between the
cloud and the star since this is the prime viewing location. At the star you are in the lee of the
island; you get the breeze but not the chop that is on the windward side of the
island. As I recall, there is
about 8 feet of water and good old Delta mud for anchoring.
Let me know your plans and we can set things up. We generally use VHF 69 and/or cell
phones to communicate (mine is 925-699-0051). So far we have three boats that I know are planning to make
it; you will make it 4.
