Buster is Ernie Schimpf's carbon fiber/epoxy, Farrier-designed rocket ship. Ernie and Buster live
in Sacramento. Both Ernie and wife Rosalie are long-time members of the
Stockton Sailing Club, where Ernie sails Buster with a custom
designed self-tacking jib for short tacking in the River. Nevertheless, Ernie regularly brings Buster
downriver to the SF Bay to beat up on rest of the multihull fleet and to enjoy a little open water.
As of 2004, Buster3 has moved to Alameda to stay closer to the heart of the racing action. 2003 Crewed Lightship Race - Shortest Time on Course, First in Class (119 participants) |
